Introduction
The IESMG 5016 series is a 16-port Layer 2 managed industrial Ethernet switch designed for backbone industrial networks operating in electrically harsh and climatically demanding environments. It provides high bandwidth aggregation capability through a configuration of up to four 10 Gigabit SFP+ uplink ports and twelve Gigabit Ethernet ports. Built for durability, the switch features a rugged IP40-rated metal housing with a fan-less cooling system and is capable of operating in a wide temperature range from -40°C to +75°C.
The device is engineered for mission-critical applications, ensuring high reliability through advanced redundancy protocols like DT-Ring and DRP/DHP, which offer recovery times of less than 20ms. It is notably IEC 61850-3 compliant, making it suitable for power substation automation, and also meets standards for rail traffic (EN 50121) and electromagnetic interference (EN 61000-6-2/6-4). For precise network timing, it supports IEEE 1588v2 PTP synchronization with accuracy within ±100ns.
Designed for easy integration, the switch supports DIN-rail mounting and provides dual redundant power inputs with options for both AC and DC power supplies. Its extensive software suite includes comprehensive network management via Web GUI, SNMP v1/v2c/v3, and robust security features such as IEEE 802.1X, SSH, and HTTPS.
