Introduction

As manufacturers move toward holistic operational visibility, the need to unify CANopen-based motion control and sensor clusters with Modbus-based PLCs and supervisory SCADA systems is paramount. This converter eliminates the technical friction between these disparate protocols, providing a deterministic data path that ensures real-time synchronization without necessitating a complete overhaul of existing fieldbus infrastructure.

The hardware is engineered for high-performance protocol translation, utilizing a 32-bit processing core to manage high-density data mapping. Featuring dedicated CAN, RS485, and 10/100M Ethernet interfaces, the GW IPC 01 operates as a CANopen Slave while functioning as a Modbus Master (supporting both RTU and TCP variants). This dual-role capability allows engineers to integrate complex Modbus slave devices into a CANopen master control environment with minimal latency.
