SC10E08AM is a dual-function device that serves as both a versatile gateway between Ethernet (TCP/IP) and serial (RS-232/422/485) communications and a high-performance Modbus Data Concentrator. As a terminal server, it enables virtually any serial device to be seamlessly connected to a LAN by encapsulating serial data for transparent, full-duplex transport over Ethernet. As a data concentrator, it independently polls and collects data from multiple Modbus slaves, storing it in an internal memory map. This architecture dramatically improves performance for master systems in demanding applications like SCADA, telecommunication, transportation, and banking by providing consolidated data with significantly faster response times.
