Introduction

The SC10B is a plug-and-play device designed for immediate deployment. It requires no external software for operation, making it an exceptionally accessible upgrade for existing infrastructure. By supporting the full Bluetooth v2.0+ EDR (Enhanced Data Rate) standard, the converter establishes a dependable wireless serial connection. It can be used in pairs to directly replace a cable or configured to communicate with other Bluetooth-enabled devices, such as PCs, laptops, or PDAs. When used as a direct cable replacement, one unit is configured as a Master to initiate the connection (typically at the host PC), while the second unit acts as a Slave at the peripheral device, creating a seamless and transparent wireless serial bridge.

Technically, the SC10B provides broad compatibility with a wide range of serial equipment through its support for baud rates from 1200bps up to 115.2kbps. Its Class 2 / Class 1 Bluetooth radio, paired with an enhanced external antenna, delivers a significant operational range of 150 to 300 feet, making it suitable for a variety of challenging environments.
