Introduction
The GW BMS 02 02R is an advanced BACnet Router designed to support modern and scalable Building Management Systems (BMS). It intelligently connects BACnet MS/TP, BACnet IP, and BACnet Ethernet network segments, enabling seamless communication across different physical network layers without protocol translation. This capability distinguishes it from basic protocol converters and makes it ideal for large and complex BACnet installations, improving overall network performance through efficient traffic routing and segmentation.
Engineered for ease of commissioning and reliable operation, the GW BMS 02 02R supports auto-discovery of downstream BACnet MS/TP devices and requires no configuration file, significantly reducing setup time. It allows BACnet IP supervisory systems to discover, monitor, and control connected field devices—such as VAV and other BACnet controllers—as part of a unified BACnet system. With web-based configuration, BBMD, and Foreign Device Registration (FDR) support, the GW BMS 02 02R provides essential tools for advanced BACnet network management across multiple subnets.
Scalability: Upgradeable to 5000 / 10000 points at additional cost
Ethernet Port: 1x 10/100 Ethernet (RJ45)
Serial port included as per standard hardware configuration for the GW BMS 05 series.
Consumption: 100mA @ 24V DC
Mounting: DIN Rail
Relative Humidity: 5-90% RH (non-condensing)
Support Documents
A) All features are the same in both models. However, the GW BMS 02 02R supports router functionality for the BACnet MSTP protocol. This means there is no need to configure a CSV file for protocol conversion.
A) The device has 2 serial ports. You can connect up to 64 serial devices (32 devices per port).
A) A CSV file is an Excel file saved in the format “CSV (Comma Delimited)”. It is used to configure the input protocol, output protocol, and other key parameters required for communication and protocol conversion in the GW BMS Gateway.
