Introduction

The switch provides high-density Gigabit connectivity through a versatile configuration of up to 28 ports. This architecture consists of 24 10/100/1000BaseT(X) RJ45 copper ports for local equipment integration and 4 100/1000BaseX SFP fiber interfaces. This combination allows solution architects to balance high-bandwidth local copper connections with long-distance, EMI-resistant fiber optic uplinks required to connect remote nodes to a centralized control center.

Strategically, the IESMGR 6024-4S transitions the network from a simple transport layer to a secure routing platform. By integrating advanced Layer 3 capabilities—including OSPFv2, RIP, and VRRP—the switch enables efficient inter-VLAN communication and provides gateway-level redundancy. Furthermore, its adherence to the IEC 62443-4-2 industrial cybersecurity standard ensures that critical infrastructure is shielded against unauthorized access, fulfilling modern requirements for defense-in-depth and network integrity.
