Introduction
The GW BMS 05A is a compact and reliable BACnet to Modbus RTU/TCP protocol converter designed to seamlessly integrate BACnet-based Building Management Systems with Modbus field devices commonly used in industrial and automation environments. It enables smooth data exchange between these two widely adopted protocol families, allowing both systems to operate together within a single, unified control architecture.
As a dedicated protocol device server, the GW BMS 05A performs true protocol conversion between BACnet IP and Modbus RTU/TCP With support for RS-485–based Modbus RTU devices and Ethernet-based Modbus TCP, it allows BACnet supervisory systems to monitor and control connected Modbus System efficiently, ensuring reliable interoperability and simplified system integration.control connected all devices efficiently, ensuring reliable interoperability and simplified system integration.
Scalability: Upgradeable to 5000 / 10000 points at additional cost
Ethernet Port: 1x 10/100 Ethernet (RJ45)
Serial port included as per standard hardware configuration for the GW BMS 05 series
Consumption: 100mA @ 24V DC
Mounting: DIN Rail
Relative Humidity: 5-90% RH (non-condensing)
Support Documents
A: The GW BMS 05A Gateway is designed to convert data from the BACnet IP protocol to the Modbus TCP/IP protocol.
A: You need to use an Ethernet switch. Connect all BACnet IP and Modbus TCP/IP devices to the Ethernet switch and then connect the GW BMS 05A LAN port to the same switch.
A: The gateway can be configured through its Web GUI. Using the Web interface, you can:
• Configure the IP address
• Upload or download the CSV file
• Monitor communication status and errors
• Configure input and output protocols (Master/Slave settings) through the CSV file
